For five weeks this summer I studied with The Michael Chekhov School. Learning this psycho-physical acting technique from some of the best teachers in the nation made me a better actor and a better photographer. How does our internal life affects our bodies, and how does movement affect our internal life? Like many actors I’ve heard over and over again that some actors go “inside out” and some go “outside in”. Michael Chekhov casts this simplification aside. The world affects us. We affect the world.
If you are an actor and are interested in learning more about The Michael Chekhov School, check out their website. Ted Pugh, Fern Sloan, and Ragnar Freidank are master teachers of the technique. Their wisdom is worth the trip to Hudson, NY.
